These pictures were taken in a field in the Garden City area. The field had very heavy glyphosate resistant Kochia pressure where a preventative type treatment was not used. The corn was planted but not up and a burn down with residual herbicide was applied by the Garden City CO-OP. A small piece of wood was placed in the field between the 2nd and 3rd tower on the pivot and then the field was sprayed. After applying the herbicide mix the wood was removed which left a nice check in the untreated area. It was then flagged to see how the control looked and I must admit, it looked good!!

The Kochia preventative herbicide treatments applied in early March look very good overall and saved a lot of headaches and a lot of money. I would strongly recommend using these early treatments on Corn, Soybeans and Milo fields and also in summer fallow where no-till or minimum tillage is used. There is a chemical mix for every situation but you must use the right mix to get the best results.  We have decided to go to WAR with these hard to kill weeds and we have the fire power to take them out!  Call the Garden City CO-OP Crop Production Team and we can help you with the best and most innovative ideas to keep you fields clean. Come on Boys, lets drop some BOMBS!!
