GCC Insight: Spring Petroleum Maintenance

Apr 25, 2019

With Spring finally here, Petroleum Sales and Operations Specialist Brent McMillan offers last minute service reminders on tractors and irrigation equipment before getting into the busy planting season.

First, make sure you are stocked up on Cenex lubricants, greases and engine oil.  From gear lube for sprinkler gear boxes to engine oil to the family car, the Garden City Co-op has you covered.  We have the ability to find what what specifications meet your OEM requirements, so don't hesitate to give us a call if you need any assistance in getting the right product for your needs.

With tractors gearing up for planting season, doing some quick maintenance on your fuel storage will save you a lot of headaches and time down the road.  "It's much easier than most people think," says McMillan.  "Simply drain any moisture from the bottom of your tank and change your filter.  This will prevent problems later down the road when you are at your busiest."

Now is also a great time to contract fuel for the summer months.  "Prices have been steadily on the rise the last 60 to 90 days and as a general rule of thumb, they continue to climb throughout the summer season as the demand increases" says McMillan.

Be on the lookout for Cenex's Summer Grease promotion, which will run from June 17th to August 16th.  Receive a $15 Visa gift card for every 40 pack of grease purchased, or a $50 Visa gift card for every 120 lb keg of grease.

For your fuel or lubricant questions or needs, contact your Garden City Co-op Petroleum Department at (620) 276-8301 today.
