It’s that time of year again! Time to start thinking about planting. Variable rate seeding is great way to maximize your yield potential. By adjusting the population according to the zone, you maximize the potential of each zone. For example, when you lower the seeding population in zone that is showing a lower yield potential, you give the crop a better chance at fighting for the nutrients in that area. In the same way if you have a higher potential for yield you have the ability to raise the seeding rate because the plants will have the correct growing conditions for a higher population. By doing so the grower can become more efficient with his or her inputs throughout the year.
