Growing Future Ag Leaders

School is back in session, and Annie has been on the move—visiting local classrooms to share more about agriculture and give students a closer look at what we do here at Garden City Co-op (GCC). Beyond the classroom, she’s been connecting with students at career fairs, spreading the word about the GCC Internship Program, and helping them explore opportunities to grow their professional skills.

Our internship program offers hands-on experience right in the Garden City office, where students see how every department works together to serve our members and communities. Interns gain valuable mentorship, develop practical skills, and experience what it’s like to work within a farmer-owned cooperative.

Annie has also been supporting college students as they prepare for their next steps—participating in mock interviews and résumé reviews to help them build confidence and make meaningful connections. These efforts not only prepare students for their future careers but also strengthen GCC’s talent pipeline for the future of agriculture.

At GCC, we’re proud to invest in students and nurture the next generation of ag leaders. It’s all part of our commitment to education, community, and growing together—the cooperative way.
