Tank Maintenance and the Value of Blended Fuel

Keeping your fuel tanks and pumping equipment in top shape isn’t just a seasonal chore—it’s an investment in the reliability and efficiency of your operation year-round. A few simple maintenance steps can go a long way in preventing costly downtime and protecting your equipment.

Start by regularly draining any water from your tanks to prevent algae growth. Left unchecked, algae can clog filters, damage injectors, and impact the entire fuel system. If contamination spreads through the fuel nozzle, multiple pieces of equipment could be affected. Replacing a $15 filter is a lot easier—and cheaper—than a trip to the repair shop. We have spin-on filters available at our office to help you stay prepared.

For diesel-powered equipment, blended fuel plays an important role in keeping engines running smoothly and preventing performance issues. Incorporating blended fuel as part of your standard fueling routine helps ensure your system stays conditioned and ready, no matter the workload or time of year.

If you have questions about fuel, lubricants, or tank maintenance, stop by our office at 7th and Fulton or give us a call at 620.276.8301.

From all of us at GCC, we appreciate your business and look forward to keeping your operation running strong.
