Make a Difference This Summer: A Million Meals Movement!

By Annie Gerber, Talent and Partnership Coordinator

This summer, something incredible is happening across Kansas—the Summer of a Million Meals! The Kansas Food Bank has teamed up with Dillons and KAKE to raise awareness and rally communities in Garden City and Wichita to help children who lose access to school-based meal programs when classes are out.

We’re proud to be part of this impactful initiative as a Barrel Buddy! Each week, we collect donated items from a local Dillons store and deliver them to the Kansas Food Bank. It’s a small commitment that makes a BIG difference, and we’re honored to continue to help fight hunger in our community.

You can be part of the movement too! Next time you visit Dillons, consider picking up a few extra non-perishable items and placing them in the blue donation barrel at self-checkout. Every can, every box, every donation counts.

The Kansas Food Bank plays a vital role in supporting families in need—and together, we can help ensure no child goes hungry this summer.
